Billie Eilish is V Magazine 's September cover star.
For the shoot, Billie ditched her signature athleisure clothes in favor of a Victorian bridal look.
What you probably think of when I say "Billie Eilish:" Music, her cool style, and probably "Bad Guy" (duh).
What doesn't likely come to mind: Flowy-haired brides who look like they could be marrying Timothée Chalamet in Little Women . Glance at V Magazine's latest issue though, and your mind will probably change. In honor of the mag's 20th anniversary, they nabbed Billie Eilish as a cover star, but instead of dressing her in her usual rotation of track suits and baggy clothes, they gave her a distinctly more anachronistic outfit.
As Seventeen first pointed out, Billie dons the cover dressed in a Victorian-era bridal look, complete with a bouquet of wedding-worthy lilies. According to editor and fashion stylist for the shoot, Alex White , Billie's actually wearing a Gucci cape, top, and pants, along with a Bulgari necklace and a Tiffany & Co. ring.
In additional pics from the shoot, Billie goes less bridal and more true to her personal style with a pair of sick skull glasses and a long black wig that would look right at home on the set of The Ring .
In the accompanying interview with Pharrell , Billie talked about her rise in the industry, remembering how some executives didn't take her seriously. Joke's on them, right?
"I remember the first time I had any sort of meeting with a label or management, I was 13. I think the only people that didn't look at me like I was going to have a horrible career were the people that I ended up working with," she said. "Everyone was just like, ‘Oh, you're 13, yikes, you're going to be used,' and this and that. And I am like, ‘Yo, y'all are the people that would use me in the situation you are talking about.' So, I don't know what that is supposed to mean."
"The only people who didn't say that shit were the people that I felt an energy and connection with. I am really, really lucky and grateful that I have had the experience that I had with my label and with my team and everyone, because I never had any issues with people trying to pull me in a different direction, one in which I would not want to be headed. I think that might just be because I have always been the kind of person that knows what the fuck I want, and if it's not what I want, then I am not going to do it."
